I am a newly minted 'senior' and needed a hobby. We live in Suncoast Florida so something's always in season in seems. We have a walled courtyard with planting areas on all 4 sides. A friend gave me a small tomato plant her husband started from seed. I should have killed it. I'm spending way too many $$$ on things like this product.I have been using it for a week. I filled the basins and plugged it in . A short delay while it lifted the water a couple of feet then the flow started. It makes a bit more noise than I expected, but is the very pastoral sound (IMO) of a babbling brook. I like it. In the photos you see that both barrels have overflow cutouts. The pump lifts the water to the pump and then it's all gravity. I have never seen water overflow the lower barrel, but in a decent rain it will. We haven't had rain yet. I may need to put some kind of hard surface down if our heavy rains overflow erodes my top soil.I have found I need to add about about 2" of water a day and that's in direct Florida Sun. Yesterday I repositioned one of my elevated sprinkler head where it sprays water directly at the lower barrel overflow notch. That worked and the barrel was just right after the irrigation ran.I had been looking at fountains on Wayfair that were 2-3 hundred $$$. This was under 40$. I had made up my mind if it looked too "cheesy" I would return it. I did not return it! I am sure it will weather, but the pricier one would have too. There really nothing to go wrong except a small submersible pump and that looks like it would cost about 10$
