This warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by circumstances outside normal use.

Failure to follow assembly, maintenance or safety instructions.
8. Outdoor Exposure and Weathering
Our products are designed for outdoor use and are exposed to weather, moisture, temperature change and ultraviolet light.
Surface rust, patina, discolouration, fading and weathering of finishes are normal characteristics of outdoor products and are not considered defects.
Steel and cast iron fire pits will develop surface rust and heat discolouration with use. This is expected and does not affect structural integrity.
To maintain your product, we recommend:
- covering or storing the product when not in use
- keeping fire pits dry and free of ash between uses
- treating surfaces as described in the product instructions
Damage caused by failure to protect or maintain a product may not be covered under warranty.
9. Water and Electrical Components
Water features contain submersible pumps, power supplies and, in some products, solar panels and batteries.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, electrical components other than the submersible pump are not designed for immersion.
Products should not be operated:
- with the pump running dry or with the water level below the minimum stated in the instructions
- in freezing conditions, or where water in the feature may freeze
- with a damaged cord, plug or power supply
Pump life is affected by water quality, sediment, running time and maintenance. Regular cleaning of the pump and filter as described in the instructions is a condition of the pump warranty.
Damage caused by running the pump dry, frost damage, or sediment build up may not be covered under warranty.
10. Fire Pit Use and Heat Effects
Fire pits, fire pit BBQs and pizza ovens are exposed to direct flame and high temperatures.
The following are normal effects of heat and are not considered defects:
- warping, cupping or distortion of grill plates and cooking grids
- discolouration or burn off of paint and high temperature coating
- scaling or flaking of the internal surface of a bowl
- heat marking of stands, legs and surrounds
Damage caused by the following is not covered:
- burning treated, painted or chemically preserved timber
- use of accelerants or fuels other than those stated in the instructions
- quenching a hot product with water
- moving or storing a product before it has fully cooled
11. Accidental Damage
The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents including:
- dropping the product

- improper transportation
12. Modifications and Unauthorised Repairs
This warranty does not apply where the product has been:
- modified
- altered
- repaired by a person not authorised by Bakyard
- fitted with non-approved parts
Unauthorised modification of electrical components may create safety risks and will void the warranty.
13. Warranty Claims
To make a warranty claim customers must provide:
- proof of purchase
- order number
- description of the issue
- photographs or video where relevant
Bakyard may request that the product be returned for inspection before determining whether the warranty applies.
14. Return and Inspection
Where a product must be returned for inspection, customers must contact Bakyard before sending the product.
Products must be completely cool, clean of ash, soot and fuel residue, and free of standing water before being returned.
Products containing rechargeable batteries must be packaged in accordance with transport safety requirements.
15. Limitation of Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bakyard’s liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies set out in this policy.
Nothing in this policy limits rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
